This week went by incredibly quickly and was so productive! Which made it extra fun to have friends over last night, since I’d done enough work to feel very good about relaxing. Having people over right after work did keep me from posting yesterday though and I think this could happen at least monthly, so I’m hoping to get as ahead on my photography as I am on reading soon. Being able to do review posts in advance has been wonderful and it would be nice to do that with my photography posts too.

This past week I had an awesome opportunity to take pictures at the Pella Tulip festival, although because of the weird weather this year the tulips had already come and gone.  Fortunately the parade involved lots of cute kids dressed up in Dutch costumes, adults also dressed in authentic Dutch clothing, and some other beautiful flowers.  The town as a whole was beautiful and there were lots of cute shops with handmade goods, plus funnel cake and other fair food.  Definitely an event I’d recommend if you’re ever in Iowa!

A few days ago I was walking to work on campus and spotted this butterfly, enjoying the sun as much as I was!  The weather here in Iowa has been absolutely gorgeous lately, although today was a little chilly because of the wind.  I hope the rest of you are enjoying the summer weather too 🙂  Although I’d love to get out and enjoy the weather more, I think I’ll mostly be studying for finals this weekend.  How about you?  Any exciting plans for getting out and enjoying the sunshine this weekend?

Today I finally finished an experiment I’ve been working on for over a month.  It was wonderful 🙂  It was pretty late when I finished, but fortunately it was still sunny and I was able to take some pictures while enjoying the beautiful spring weather.  I can’t believe we have flowers here already!
