Book Blogging Events

I just signed up for a bookish pen pal in this event being hosted by Stormy at Book.Blog.Bake and I’m super excited! Who doesn’t like getting real mail?! Far too uncommon these days. Throw in the chance to talk about all things bookish and I’m in! Sign-ups close on August 1st for this months!

Another event I’m really looking forward to is Roof Beam Reader‘s Austen in August event. I’ve never really gotten into the Austen craze and I think it’s about time I did! I love classics and I love re-tellings, so I hope to read at least one of each.

I wasn’t sure about Bout of Books at first because I think I may already spend as much time as I can reading! However, I’ve been won over by their promises of laid-backness and lots of fun socializing, which I’m sure I’ll enjoy a lot 🙂 Here’s the official blurb about the event: The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, August 19th and runs through Sunday, August 25th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure, and the only reading competition is between you and your usual number of books read in a week. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 8.0 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. – From the Bout of Books team

More of an on-going project than an event, I love the idea of a bookish bucket list, put together by Rebecca of Love At First Book. Mine’s not finished, but I’ve been inspired to start one here.

  1. Hooray for bookish events 🙂 I’m doing the Bout of Books for the very first time. Laid back…sounds wonderful to me!

    • I feel like I had a hard time finding out about them when I started blogging and now they’re are just so many, it’s hard to choose which ones to do! I don’t think I could do a week long event if it weren’t laid back 🙂
