I usually have such a hard time getting pictures of birds on my balcony because they’re there and then gone faster than I can move. Today, they were strangely oblivious to me moving around, to the point where I wish I’d taken the time to line up some of my shots better. Instead, I shot quickly, expecting them to fly away at any moment. Hopefully this means the birds are getting more comfortable and this will happen frequently 🙂 Happy Friday all!
Awww, I love me some cute little birdies 🙂 Have a GREAT weekend!
Thanks Jenn, you too!
Oooh beautiful! I doubt I’d be able to capture any good photos of birds, even if they sat completely still. I’m not a photographer at all! 😛
Thanks Asti! I’m sure with the right camera and some practice you could get pictures like that too 🙂
I love how clearly you can see all of their feathers! The bright blue on the back of the blue jay and the little pattern on the robin’s breast are so pretty. 🙂 Great pictures!

Thanks Alice! I really liked the blue on the robin too 🙂
I love getting photos of birds, but agree that they are hard to capture most of the time! Love the blue on the first two! Great shots!
Here’s My Snapshot
Lately, they’ve been one of my favorite things to photograph, but it can take a lot of patience to get them sitting still!
Those are adorable. Your birds are youngsters, probably just a few weeks out of the nest. They don’t know enough to be fearful yet so they don’t fly off as quickly as an adult would.
Oh, that’s an idea I hadn’t thought of. I wonder if I can tell our blue jays apart and figure out if there are young ones that stick around for longer.
The youngsters are usually a little bit smaller and their first set of feathers are scruffy looking. Once they’re a few months old they pretty much look the same. And they’ve learned to run away from us humans!
Thanks Leslie! I appreciate the info 🙂
What fun to capture these hard to capture birds. Here’s Mine
It’s true! I’m always extra excited to get good bird pictures because it can be so hard to time it properly 🙂
I love the bird with blue on his tail – very pretty!
Thanks! That one was my favorite too 🙂
Sweet birds!
Thank you 🙂
I always love seeing blue jay pictures. Birds are hard, you did very well.
Thanks Louise! I was very excited they sat still for so long, because they can be very hard to photograph.
