Fortunately, there are lots of good, new blogs out there, so I found some I wanted to follow and am sharing them with you here
So, while this is a long-ish post, I promise it will be well worth your time to find out about these awesome new bloggers! Continue reading

Title: The Outlaws of Sherwood
Author: Robin McKinley
Source: library
Rating: ★★★★☆

Project: Fairy Tale – Maid Marian
Title: Maid Marian
Author: Elsa Watson
Source: library
Rating: ★★☆☆☆
Review Summary: Don’t be mislead by the description, which suggests court intrigue and a strong protagonist. All this book has going for it is beautiful writing.
As part of Alison at The Cheap Reader’s Project: Fairy Tale, I’m reviewing one original and three re-tellings of Robin Hood.
Maid Marian has been married since the age of five, but only as a teenager does she realize how unpleasant that could be. When her husband dies before they’re old enough for the wedding to be consummated, Marian is happy to keep her freedom. The reprieve is temporary though. as orphans such as Marian may be married off by the queen. Determined to know the queen’s plans, Marian seeks Robin Hood’s help intercepting relevant letters. The story proceeds pretty traditionally from there… Continue reading
