This week the Monday Musings question from Should Be Reading is the following: What was the last book you could not finish and why?
I actually have not given up on a book since I started blogging, in large part because I just can’t bring myself to review a book I didn’t finish. There have been a few I was close to giving up on, including The Tightwad Gazette, which I found useful but not enjoyable, and an indie book that was, in my personal opinion, unacceptably unedited. Fortunately those books have been few and far between, so I’ve mostly finished and enjoyed finishing all of the books I’ve read this year.
What was the last book you didn’t finish? Do you review books you don’t finish, always or some of the time?

I give you kudos to not giving up on any recently.

Thanks! It might mean I should take more chances with my reading though, especially with indie authors.
I do sometimes find one I can’t finish. Here is my post:
MM
yes, books I have accepted for review, I try harder to finish and review even if I am not liking it. but otherwise, I have to remember life is short and there are so many books out there, waiting t be read!
That makes sense
I think I may sometimes make myself finish books when I really shouldn’t. I just always feel like I’ve invested so much time already, I may as well finish so I can review the whole thing!
I used to have a ” finish at all costs” approach to reading but I’ve given up on a couple lately: http://daystarz.wordpress.com/2012/12/10/musing-mondays-dec-10/
That might be the healthier way to go, haha. I haven’t had too many I’ve wanted to give up on, but I still think I need to do better remembering that I can do that
There have been a few, but I usually try to finish them even if they are bad. Every now and then I do find a dud, but they are few and far inbetween.
I’ve had pretty good luck too
Maybe I’m no adventurous enough, but I usually don’t start reading something unless I’m fairly certain I’ll like it.
good point, I am sure I do the same thing without realizing it.
